About Me

My name is Christopher Knight. This year, I'm a junior at Brea Olinda High School. I'm taking AP US History, AP Physics, AP Calculus AB, AP Language, Spanish 3, and GITA 3 this year, meaning I've got quite a lot on my plate. However, that won't stop me from putting out my best work and (hopefully) maintaining straight A's in all of my classes. For sports, I play water polo in the fall and swim in the spring. Last year I was on JV for boths sports, and hope to move up to varsity in at least one of them this year. Outside of school, I enjoy learning new things, running, skiing, listening to music, and spending time with my friends. Although I'm no professional photographer, I have a good eye and take good shots every now and then (check the header background).

I'm very passionate about music as well. I played trombone for four years, and band was a big part of my life in late elementary school and middle school. Unfortunately, I had to give up band in high school, but I want to learn guitar, bass, or drumkit to make sure I keep some level of musical prowess later in life. I also spend a lot of time listening to music and have an ever-expanding library of music (mostly from genres that have the word "rock" somewhere in title). Some notable bands and artists I listen to are Led Zeppelin, Rush, Black Sabbath, Yes, Pink Floyd, The Police, King Crimson, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, The Police, The Doors, The Who, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers (order does not relflect my personal opinions of the band). If I have enough spare time, I plan to write album reviews and post them for people who want to read them.

After high school, I hope to attend the California Institute of Technology where I plan to major in aerospace engineering. For as long as I've known, I've been extremely passionate about space, spacecraft, and astrophysics. I've gone to JPL's Open House every year (with the exception of 2020 for obvious reasons) since I was four years old. Because of this, I'd love to work at JPL and be a part of a major human achievement. My ultimate goal is to leave my mark on the universe, perhaps by designing (or helping design) a spaceprobe destined to travel the cosmos forever.

About GITA

The Global Information Technology Academy is a four year course offered by Brea Olinda High School

In this class, I've learned languages like C# (GITA 1), HTML, Javascript, and CSS (GITA 2) so far. This year I'm learning how to make Flash animations and next year will be dedicated to Java. Use the links at the top to see my projects, from my very first to my most recent.
